Talking Petty Podcast

This week we wanted to give you a much needed lighter episode! We teamed up for the second time with the girls of the Talking Petty Podcast. As their name suggests, these young ladies have their own podcast where they talk about all the hot topics revolving around pop culture and their day to day ordeals. We wanted to shift gears and change the subject from our norm (cough, cough.. CORONA) in order to unwind. In this episode we share some laughs with our fellow sassy New Yorkers and we hope you enjoy it! If you haven't listened yet, CLICK HERE and come back here after for the show notes:

Alyssa and Stephanie are the non physician version of us! These two women are on their second year of podcasting and we finally had the opportunity to record with both of them. Check us out on their podcast HERE (EPISODE #78). They are both cousins who decided to start their own show and their name was inspired by a group chat they had with their friends where they would just talk sh*t.

The Start

Alyssa influenced Stephanie and was herself influenced by other podcasters such as, Heather McDonald, the Lady Gang, among others. At the time they discussed this and was like hey we can do this no problem. They had the support system to assist with getting the media setup and then they were well on their way.

How has content changed since the pandemic?

Typically, they would meet in person and take pictures professionally. Since the pandemic It has been very hard to see each other but also to create content. They tried ordering ring lights for the house but it has not been the same and also waiting for your amazon order is another hurdle for them.

Fun Takeaways from the Episode

Tie Dye

Alyssa is in design working for G3 so she knew that the tie dye trend was coming! Stephanie also tried the DIY option and let us just say it was an EPIC fail. We wouldn't count on us doing it any better by the way.

Face Masks

We talked about face masks (SIGH, eye roll). Just WEAR one.

Who is Who?

We decided that we are more similar than we originally thought. A for A and S for S.

Alyssa and Adelynn are the two organized ones whereas, Stephanie and Samantha just show up for the show (jk..)

Fashion Tip

All the summer products will not be coming out due to the pandemic so we will be going from spring to fall.

Show Favorites

  1. Little Fires Everywhere

  2. Ozark

  3. Unorthodox

  4. Fauda

  5. Snowfall

  6. And obviously all the reality TV shows.. (we don't have to name them because you already know)

Future plans?

A year ago they took a trip to a college and passed out condoms to all the college kids. They hung out with them and were able to promote their podcast. Since this was a successful venture they decided to go somewhere and promote their podcast on a large scale again (post pandemic of course).

Other things they would like to do:

  • Take on more brand collaborations

  • CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT

  • Will welcome anything that's free (us too!)

  • Create an East Coast crew

They want to have something similar to Dear Media on the East Coast and also throw events to meet other content creators (i.e.: a brunch)

Things to look forward to:

Focusing on skin:

Microneedling and a Hydrafacial post pandemic and an ice roller to keep in your house

Secret Tips

It's quarantine so everyone is doing the wrong thing (and we don't blame them) but some things they are proud of include:

  • Working out daily

  • Home cooking

  • Drinking and sleeping in moderation for your wellness

Where to find them?
